Lil Wayne Launches Clothing Line, Embraces Pajama Swag

Lil Wayne launched his first clothing line Thursday in New York City. The hip-hop honcho's line of T-shirts and hats, called Trukfit, embraces pajama swag.

His stylist, Marisa Flores, a former skate-industry insider, described to Women's Wear Daily her client's style. Trukfit comes complete with bold colors, animated graphics and is all made in the U.S. of 100 percent cotton.

Wayne arrived at El Privado, the basement club at the Hotel Americano in NYC's Chelsea, dressed in a bright pink T-shirt from his line, a matching pink hat, red plaid drawstring pants and moon boots designed by artist Terence Koh for Opening Ceremony and Forfex.

Young male models showed off the collection dressed in cargo shorts, calf-socks and silver body paint. The collection includes T-shirts and baseball caps inspired by 90s skateboard style and the Japanese street-wear designer Nigo. Russell Simmons and Ahmad Bradshaw of the NY Giants were both there. Buyers and hip hop editors sauntered around the room, checking out the line.

I was just waiting for the right time to bring it out, Wayne told the crowd as the DJ played his own song, A Milli. I never had a good name for it, and I came up with the name and I thought it was perfect timing.
